1. In 1911, the College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts was founded in Mayag�ez. 2. For the ancient Greeks, it signified all the mechanic arts , including medicine and music. 3. The mechanic arts were also considered practical fields for those that did not come from good families. 4. With its unique curriculum, it promoted agriculture and mechanic arts which combined practicum and academic work. 5. Desirous of learning and of aspiring disposition, he developed a taste for mathematics and for mechanic arts . 6. The college started as the Department of Mechanics in 1894 with a two-year program in Mechanic Arts . 7. In the 19th century " mechanic arts " referred to fields of which some are now known as engineering. 8. He was also a trustee of the New Hampshire College of Agriculture and the Mechanic Arts and Dartmouth College. 9. The Mechanic Arts Building was constructed in 1904 following a rapid period of growth of the Mechanical Arts Department. 10. These institutions focused on providing practical skills, especially " for the benefit of Agriculture and the Mechanic Arts ".
